Create a new user

Create one or multiple new users for your organization on the Sensolus platform.

Procedure

  1. Go to Admin → Access Management → Users.
  2. Click Create new user on top right. This opens a new window:

    Field Description
    User name Name used by user to login. Has to be globally unique. It is a good practice to use the email address.
    Email address Email address. By default a user needs to validate the email address. Unless this is done the system will never send emails to that destination. As an admin you can override that validation. A second check-box indicates whether the system has received mail bounces. Once that happens the email address is blacklisted until an administrator clear the check-box again. Mail addresses which bounce are bad for the mail infrastructure reputation and as such are marked on the first occasion.
    Full name Complete name of the user
    Password Has to comply with organisation and partner level password complexity rules.
    Profile image Avatar image. Can only be configured once the user is saved. Typically uploaded by the user itself
    Language User interface language
    Timezone Timezone, is relevant for all rendering of times
    Role The role determines which types of data the user can see and what she can do. Roles are used to limit user actions (permission-based)
    First day of the week Relevant for reports like activity.
    Unit system Choose between metric and imperial units to use in the portal. Metric (Distance: km, Temp: Celsius); Imperial (Distance: yards, miles, Temp: Fahrenheit)
    Visibility filters Visibility filters limit which trackers a user can see.
    Expiration date Accounts can be set to expire at a certain date.
  3. Fill in all fields, they are described below.
  4. Click Save.
